Oded Szabo-Melamed was born in Israel in 1959. He joined the Israeli army in 1978 and served both in the regular forces and the reserve forces earning the rank of a major.
Oded later studied Pharmacology and also has a Masters degree in Management from Boston University.
In his daily life he is a pharmacist, and lives in Israel with his wife and four children.
Oded loves Berlin and was surprised to find out that there is very little information about sites in Berlin with a "Nazi" history. He and his son Omer undertook the challenge of creating a comprehensive and detailed guide about sites in Berlin that are related to World War II – sites that can be visited and seen today.
Many thousands of original pictures were taken by Omer with supporting and guiding information written by Oded.
The result is a unique guide for both history lovers and for anyone who wants to tour Berlin.
